About

fullsizeoutput_4cAs an overweight teen, I struggled with my self-esteem.  I was sitting on the bench, paralyzed by low self-worth and a lack of knowledge about what would make things better.

Fortunately for me, I became obsessed with athletics. That led me to learn all I could about fitness and inspired in me a desire for self-improvement. Eventually, my new found confidence, and perhaps a bit of youthful naivete, led me to the weight room.

It wasn’t exactly “love at first bench”!  I hated the weight room, but I loved the promise conquering it held.  So I persisted. There were obvious challenges and setbacks along the way, but I found myself returning time after time. I came to love the feeling the weights gave me, and, more importantly, the change they made in me, both physically and emotionally.

Gone was that young pre-teen consumed with self-doubt. I knew the only logical course for me was to pursue this new found passion and make it my life. I decided to seek a degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science at James Madison University and chase my passion with a career in fitness.

After graduation, I started working in Arlington, VA.  I have become passionate not only about my own personal wellness, but also helping others find their own personal happiness through fitness and health. No matter their background or personal circumstance, we work together to find purpose through fitness.

My approach includes helping my clients identify personal fitness goals with a combination of resistance training, nutrition coaching, and lifestyle interventions.  Living a healthier lifestyle may not solve all of our problems, but I feel it sure does leave us a hell of a lot stronger when we face the everyday challenges of life!
